This morning I was met by a black fox on my walk to work. He was 2 feet away from me and we had a standoff. At first I was thinking, he could run up and bite my leg! I had a nice chat with him and said he should be on his way as he would make some good mittens! We each took a few steps and continued on our way. As I looked back he was heading down our driveway. The other day one of the Inuvik Gas employees noticed a Lynx on our steps!!
I take a shortcut path through the trees in the morning (very dark), sure hope I don’t run in to a bear! We have been told the male grizzlies can still be out and about this time of year.
